Justified Ranch is run by 3rd generation Montanans. My husband's grandfather was the second state veterinarian. After a small farming stint in Virginia we decided to move back to Montana and do it bigger. God had a plan for us. We lived in a wall tent for 18 months while building our little house in the mountains. We have always loved dogs. Christine grew up with many different breeds of dogs, but fell in love with golden retrievers and great pyrenees. Then, we discovered after an "accident" litter that golden/pyrenees are AMAZING! We wanted to breed the mix to provide others with the great companions and livestock guardians that they make. We are small scale farmers growing potatoes, corn, cabbage, tomatoes, raspberries, apples, squash, lavender, echinacea, chamomile, you name it. We got into animal husbandry to improve the soil quality of our land and found that we love ruminants! All our animals are super spoiled. We raise them as holistically as possible. We do our best to do rotational gardening with a focus on the soil biome including a "no till" approach. This all started with getting backyard chickens. So beware. We are able to keep the cost of our puppies lower than most due to the high quality care and diet of the mothers and holistic approach to healthcare for them. We also sell lambs, piglets and an occasional calf. Christine sells original hand painted oil on canvas paintings along with raw carded sheep wool, hand knitted sweaters and other wooly items. We will even sell organic eggs to locals. Drop us a line! We're friendly.
Justified Ranch is committed to using sustainable ranching practices, including rotating pastures, conserving water, and minimizing the use of chemicals and antibiotics. We raise our animals as holistically as possible. We do worm them, including puppies. We are very careful to not bring gmos onto our property or anything tainted with pesticides. We cultivate our soil using the ruminants, composted household waste, ash from our woodstove, composted animal bedding and manure. We let the worms do the rest.
We do not do vet checks or vaccines other than rabies (which is required by Montana state law). The price reflects this. But we have never had a sick puppy. We do highly recommend you keep your new puppy away from dog parks and the public until about 6 months when your new baby has had a chance to develop its immune system.
